A Big Night for Cullen

Eighteen months after being found to have cancer, John Cullen began his comeback by scoring the game-deciding goal in Tampa Bay’s 3-1 exhibition victory over the Buffalo Sabres on Friday at Innsbruck, Austria.

It was an emotional return for the 34-year-old Lightning forward, who had not played a game since March 28, 1997, when he scored against the Hartford Whalers.

The next day, he learned he had non-Hodgkins lymphoma.
