Nebraska Linebacker Hospitalized
Nebraska linebacker Tony Ortiz was taken to a hospital, treated for a concussion and released after being carried from practice on a backboard.
Coach Frank Solich said Ortiz was knocked unconscious for about 20 seconds during a defensive drill late in practice.
Ortiz’s status for Saturday’s game between the No. 2-ranked Cornhuskers and No. 9 Washington was unclear.

Brigham Young won a national recruiting battle for the services of Drew Miller, but less than two years later, the sophomore quarterback appears ready to leave the school.
Miller lost a highly publicized battle for the starting job last spring to junior Kevin Feterik. Miller has played in only one of Brigham Young’s three games this year.
Miller apparently decided to leave BYU last weekend, after the Cougars played Washington in Miller’s home state. The Lakewood, Wash., native didn’t play in BYU’s 20-10 loss.
