Share

Free health screenings, examinations and information on health-related topics will be offered by more than 20 organizations Saturday at the second annual North Hills Health Fair at Sepulveda United Methodist Church.

“There are a lot of health services that people don’t realize are available to them, and this health fair serves as a gateway,” said Vince Velivis, director of a substance-abuse program at Bridge Focus Inc., co-sponsor with Sepulveda Shalom Zone, a North Hills-based conflict resolution organization, and the Los Angeles County Public Health Department.

Screenings and examinations offered at this year’s event will include immunizations, blood pressure and blood glucose tests, cholesterol checks and mammography screenings. Information will be available on youth programs, substance abuse, domestic violence, mental health, nutrition and other health-related topics.
