2 Robbers Escape After Crashing Car
A masked gunman and his accomplice crashed their getaway car Thursday morning moments after robbing a Santa Paula liquor store, police said. There were no arrests.
At about 10 a.m. Jue’s Liquor at 911 W. Telegraph Road was robbed by a man wearing a ski mask and holding a handgun, Santa Paula police officers said. They declined to say how much cash was stolen.
The gunman fled in a black car that crashed a few blocks away in the 500 block of Acacia Road, officers said. Two men were seen running from the crash before officers arrived. The car had been reported stolen Wednesday.
A K-9 dog, a sheriff’s helicopter and officers from four agencies unsuccessfully searched for the two men.
