From glow-in-the-dark bowling to a marionette show, the city will mark its 83rd birthday in October with a host of activities to entertain kids and adults.

This year’s Founder’s Day theme is “Happy Days,” with bands playing ‘50s music and vintage cars parked on the streets for atmosphere.

Proceeds benefit the Save Our Pool Foundation, which is raising money to refurbish the community pool at McGaugh Elementary School, said Nancy Beard, city parks and recreation director.
