Nadene Holub, long involved with helping local youth, received honors this month from the local branch of the American Assn. of University Women.
Holub, named the 1998 Tustin Woman of Distinction, was a school nurse for Tustin Unified School District for 30 years, from 1964 to 1994.
In 1985, she co-founded Laurel House, a nonprofit teen crisis home licensed to serve up to six youths. The Christian-based facility is supported by donations and grants.
Holub also served on the original advisory boards of the Assessment and Treatment Services Center and the Community Mental Health Children’s Services Division.
She is a deacon at Trinity Presbyterian Church and is a member of the Salvation Army Guild.
