Lynwood School Chief’s Leave Includes Pay

The Lynwood Unified School District said Thursday that in dismissing Supt. Audrey Clarke on Monday, the Board of Education voted to place her on paid administrative leave.

In describing the action, one board member had said Monday that Clarke was placed on leave without pay. A district spokesman declined to be interviewed Monday on the issue and limited comment to a written statement that did not deal with whether Clarke would continue to be paid.

On Thursday, the spokesman announced that Clarke was on paid administrative leave at her salary of $108,000 a year.

The board voted 3-0 to dismiss Clark, with the two other members declining to attend a 7 a.m. session convened to deal with the issue.
