Ventura Freeway Bridge, Ramp Project Completed

Share

The Ventura Freeway project to widen the on- and offramps and bridge at the northbound Parkway Calabasas exit is completed, officials announced this week.

The $3.78-million project was funded through taxes on developers building homes and businesses in the area, according to Dennis Morefield, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County Public Works Department.

Construction on the project was done by Boise, Idaho-based Morrison Knudsen Corp.

Developers widened the bridge over the freeway and built a new loop onramp for drivers headed north on the freeway. There were no ramp closures during construction, Morefield said.

Traffic signals will be installed at the new northbound offramp and at the intersection of Parkway Calabasas and Ventura Boulevard. Ramp meters will be installed on the northbound onramps.

The Parkway Calabasas ramp and bridge project will help offset traffic congestion as the area continues to develop, Morefield said.
