Saddleback’s Jackson Will Play Basketball at Hawaii

Saddleback’s Vernon Jackson has committed to play men’s basketball at Hawaii. Jackson, a two-time first-team All-Orange Empire Conference selection, was the conference’s co-MVP last season.

Jackson, a forward from Atlanta, averaged 17 points and seven rebounds.

Karen Jacobsen has been named the Saddleback College women’s volleyball coach.

Jacobsen, who played and was an assistant at Golden West College, coaches volleyball at Oceanside High and will join Saddleback’s staff this summer.

The 10-team Roller Hockey International schedule released this week calls for the Bullfrogs to play 26 games, 13 at the Arrowhead Pond, starting June 5 in Anaheim against San Jose.

The league championship series is scheduled Aug. 20-22, tentatively in Las Vegas, according to league President Bernie Mullin.

The Bullfrogs’ schedule (Sunday home games begin at 6 p.m.; all other home games begin at 7 p.m.):
