Detectives Seek Help in Solving L.A. Man’s Homicide
Los Angeles County sheriff’s detectives are asking for the public’s help in solving the slaying of a Los Angeles man found in the high desert near Lancaster.
The beaten body of Rhonell Felix Ramos, 34, was found Monday morning near 210th Street West and Avenue D-4, a rural area outside Lancaster, and detectives have few leads in the case.
“This is a puzzler because Ramos was just a regular guy,” said Det. Joe Holmes, who is investigating the case. “He appears to have had no trouble with the law and didn’t seem to bother people.”
Holmes said Ramos died from blows to the head with a blunt object.
His car, a black 1982 BMW 320i, with California license plates 3BWE145, is missing.
Ramos, who lived in the Koreatown district in Los Angeles, was known to frequent racetracks and gambling casinos in the L.A. area, Holmes said. Detectives do not believe he regularly visited Antelope Valley.
