COSTA MESA

The Planning Commission recently approved a 50-acre business complex at South Coast Metro Center. The project calls for a hotel, four office buildings, a health club, two restaurants and three parking structures on Anton Boulevard. The project would nearly double the size of the center to 1.4 million square feet. Estimated cost is $140 million.

The idea is to create a self-contained “campus” for the lawyers, accountants and other workers at the center, said Tolliver Morris, leasing director for South Coast Metro. Work could begin by the end of the month if the City Council approves the plan at its April 19 meeting.
