The Police Department will join about 200 other law enforcement teams Saturday for the 15th annual Baker to Vegas Challenge Cup, a 120-mile relay race. This year, a volunteer team of the Huntington Beach Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service will post the positions of the Huntington Beach runners on the Internet in real time. The group, part of the city’s Fire Department’s Emergency Service volunteer program, plans to begin tracking the police team with a beacon when the race starts at 7 a.m. and feed the results into cyberspace.
