Christmas in April--a nonprofit organization dedicated to rehabilitating homes for disabled, elderly or low-income residents--will kick off its ninth annual Rebuilding Day on April 24. The group is targeting homes and community centers in seven cities across Orange County, including four projects in Stanton.

Volunteers will replace roofs, paint walls and fix ceilings in three homes on Dale Street, Rose and Katella avenues and do much-needed maintenance work at the Stanton Neighborhood Center on Santa Paula Street. Volunteers are still needed. “We believe in this cause,” said project volunteer Martha Cabrera. “We hope to help these people live in homes that are safe and comfortable.” Information: (949) 440-5702.
