An Old Towne resident who was halted midway through a building project to put a new composite siding on his historic house will appeal to the City Council tonight. LeMar Lundquist said he had received verbal permission to replace his redwood siding with a composite material. But his contractor was stopped from applying the siding, and city officials ruled that the house needed the redwood to maintain Old Towne’s historical integrity.
Lundquist contends that custom redwood would cost three to five times the composite material. His appeal will be heard at 7 p.m. at City Hall, 300 E. Chapman Ave. The regular meeting of the council begins at 4:30 p.m. Information: (714) 744-5500.
