The City Council recently approved legal services to defend the city against a suit filed by Anaheim over the Riverwalk Project. The project--a 1-million-square-foot retail, restaurant and entertainment development on Harbor Boulevard--was approved in September 1998. Shortly thereafter, Anaheim filed a written and oral objection to Riverwalk’s environmental impact report. When Garden Grove approved the report, Anaheim filed a lawsuit to stop the project, contending that the report was inadequate because it didn’t take into account alleged drainage problems.
