Conference Speaker to Discuss Autism
An annual conference for those who work with the developmentally disabled will be held May 7 at the Oxnard Community Center.
Called Life Choices, the conference will feature Temple Grandin, an assistant professor of animal science at Colorado State University, as the keynote speaker.
Grandin will address the role her own autism has played in her life and how she has managed many of the neurological impairments associated with it. She will discuss the unique coping skills that have worked for her, current treatments and the employability of those with autism.
Participants will then have an opportunity to attend one of the five seminars being offered. Preregistration is required.
