Robber Hits Citibank Branch

Huntington Beach police are hunting for an armed man who robbed a Citibank branch Saturday morning.

The robber walked into the bank in the 7500 block of Edinger Avenue about 10 a.m. and handed a teller a note demanding money, said Huntington Beach Sgt. Chris Filicicchia.

The robber had a black-handled weapon--witnesses could not tell if it was a knife or a gun--tucked into the waistband of his pants, he said. The teller gave the him an undisclosed amount of cash, and the robber ran away, Filicicchia said.

No one was hurt.

The robber was described as black, 32 to 35 years old, 5-foot-10 and about 160 pounds, Filicicchia said. He had short hair, and a mustache with a few days” growth of beard. He was wearing round wire-rimmed spectacles, a black-and-red baseball cap and a blue denim jacket over a black T-shirt.
