A student at John F. Kennedy High School was awarded a $20,000 scholarship Thursday. Anne Ho received the Edison Hine scholarship, which she will use for college tuition at Stanford University. She plans to major in biological science. Ho has been president of the school’s National Honor Society chapter, a member of the academic decathlon team, vice president of the California Scholarship Federation, and a section editor of the school’s yearbook.

The scholarship is awarded annually to underrepresented students and is named after Robert A. Hine, the former manager of equal opportunity at Southern California Edison who died in 1991 after 19 years at the company.
