Doug Logan will be removed as commissioner of Major League Soccer in the second shake-up of senior management at the league in six months, a soccer source said.

MLS is expected to replace Logan with Don Garber, the senior vice president and managing director of NFL International, perhaps as soon as today, according to the source, who spoke on condition of anonymity.

The league scheduled a news conference for today in New York to make a “significant announcement.”

Logan, 56, has been the league’s only commissioner in its 3 1/2 years.

Some team officials have grumbled privately about Logan, particularly after his dismissal of deputy commissioner Sunil Gulati in February.
