McDonald Retains Edge in Late Models
Dusty McDonald retained his points lead over Gerrit Cromsigt in the NASCAR Late Model class when he finished second and Cromsigt was fourth in the second of the late model races held at Irwindale Speedway on Saturday night.
McDonald leads Cromsigt in the points race, 748-744.
The two were tied going into the second race. Cromsigt, out of Pine Mountain Club, finished second and McDonald was third in the first “twin 30” race. McDonald, out of Simi Valley, had a two-point lead going into the night’s races.
Todd Burns of Riverside won both NASCAR Late Model “twin 30” races.
It took Jim Tartaglia of Reedley, Calif., 11 laps to take over first place and win the 25-lap CAM 360 Supermodifieds race.
Bud Kaeding, 19, won the USAC Sprint Car race.
