Terrence McNally, of “Master Class” and “Frankie & Johnny in the Clair de Lune” fame, wrote a comedy for theater lovers everywhere in 1982--”It’s Only a Play,” about the birth of a new Broadway show called “The Golden Egg.” Fullerton’s Stages, which mounted the show two years ago to good notices, brings it back with the same director and most of the same cast.
