Long Beach Playhouse Seeks Original Plays for New Works Festival

Full-length, unproduced original plays or adaptations of other works by Southern California playwrights are being sought by the Long Beach Playhouse for its 10th annual New Works Festival, scheduled for spring 2000.

Submissions are being accepted through Nov. 15.

Plays selected will be considered for a full production in the playhouse’s Studio Theatre for the 2000-2001 season.

Playwrights will receive a $100 stipend if their play is selected, be given the opportunity to work with a director, have their play critiqued by professional reviewers and will receive a videotape of the directed reading.
