It appears that the city will finally sign a new contract for a cable service provider since its previous 15-year contract with Century Communications Corp. expired in February. On the agenda at Tuesday’s meeting, the City Council is expected to approve the franchise agreement between Century and Adelphia Communications. Century transferred partnership to AT&T;, which is transferring partnership to Adelphia. “We’re all set,” Councilman Russell Patterson said. “We’re just waiting for the parameters of the deal to be hammered out.” Patterson said the new contract will be for less than 15 years, and cable service will continue without disruption when the contract is signed.
