Two Congregations Schedule Get-Togethers
In an effort to draw nonaffiliated Jews back into temples before the High Holidays, a smattering of temples are holding open houses and barbecues.
Temple Beth El of Aliso Viejo will hold a barbecue picnic dinner followed by Shabbat service at 6 p.m. Friday. The leadership of the temple and Rabbi Alan Krause and Johanna Hershenson will attend. Call (949) 362-3999 for information.
Temple Beth Emet will hold an open house from 10 a.m. to noon Aug. 29 at 1770 W. Cerritos Ave., Anaheim. All prospective members are invited to tour the temple and meet with staff and officers. Call (714) 772-4720 for information.
