The Municipal Water District of Orange County has appointed Peer Swan to represent Irvine as a director on the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California.
In a 3-2 vote, water officials chose Swan, a Newport Coast resident, to join four other directors from around the county to represent municipal water interests on the Metropolitan board.
“He will really bring our water district, Irvine and its surrounding cities a voice on the water issues that are sweeping not only Southern California but the entire state,” said Paul D. Jones II, general manager for the Irvine Ranch Water District.
