LA CRESCENTA — Four mountain bikers reported missing on a 25-mile excursion in the Angeles National Forest Sunday were found by early Monday by sheriff’s deputies.
The two men and two women were in good condition after a night in the San Gabriel Mountains, said Sheriff’s Sgt. Don Bee. The four, all from the Burbank area, were found about 3:30 a.m. by one of five rescue teams deployed in an extensive search.
The bikers had set off through Little Tujunga Canyon north of Sunland on Sunday morning. When they failed to return as planned Sunday afternoon, friends reported them missing.
The rescue team discovered their abandoned bikes and followed their foot trail, Bee said. Apparently the trail was washed out and their maps offered little help, he said.
