Fire Capt. Hugh Wood is slated to provide the City Council a presentation on the Orange County Fire Authority’s equity study tonight. The study would ensure that all cities the agency services pay their dues depending on the amount of services they receive. Meanwhile, the city--along with Buena Park, Garden Grove and Westminster--is studying cheaper alternatives for emergency services, one of which includes creating a four-city fire department. If implemented, the equity study would require Westminster to pay about $105,000 more for fire services during the first year. Stanton would pay about $44,000 less. The council meets at 6:30 p.m. at 7800 Katella Ave.
