The City Council met Monday for a follow-up question-and-answer session with the Orange County Fire Authority, following the council’s decision last month to look at fire service alternatives. The panel voted last month to join Stanton, Buena Park and Garden Grove in a fire service feasibility study. The city’s share of the study will cost $14,668. “The city is very happy with the Fire Authority’s services, but if the city can save money, it has to be looked into,” said Jennifer Gaetano, a city spokeswoman. The city pays the Fire Authority $5.8 million annually, but the agency is seeking a 10-year contract with a 3.5% cumulative fee increase for the first five years and a 4% cumulative increase for the subsequent five years.
