MISSION VIEJO
The Mission Viejo Nadadores have agreed to a change in their contract with the city that will delay the deadline for terminating the team’s lease until Jan. 20.
City officials have recommended that the council end its existing agreement with the team for its exclusive use of the Marguerite Aquatics Complex--an action that would take effect one year later. City officials want to reduce public subsidies for maintenance of the facility. The existing 10-year contract requires the city to give the team notice by Aug. 31 in order to make any changes.
