Ventura County Roundup : OXNARD : Beach-Goers Advised to Avoid Water
- Share via
Plagued by a high bacteria count, the Channel Islands Harbor Beach Park failed on Friday to meet minimum state ocean water quality standards, according to county health officials.
Postings to stay out of the water at the beach will remain in effect until officials determine the water is again safe. Beach-goers should also avoid contact with the water for at least 50 yards on either side of each of the posted signs.
Conditions of Ventura County beaches are updated each Thursday after 3 p.m. and are available through a recorded telephone hotline at 662-6555 or can be found on the county’s environmental health Web site, which can be accessed from a main county Web site at https://www.ventura.org.
