Kitchen Requirements

Share

My most indispensable kitchen implement? My husband! First, he’ll do those mundane preparatory tasks that are the bane of most cooks’ existence: chopping parsley, grating cheese, washing lettuce. If I’m in the middle of fixing dinner and I run out of an ingredient, he’ll go to the store. Thirsty? He’ll pour the wine (and, depending on the kind of day I’ve had, refill as necessary). He does the dishes. Last, he’s an enthusiastic recipe taster. He’ll try anything once and will offer his honest opinion. I admit he spoils me. But perhaps what makes him truly indispensable is that (said criticisms notwithstanding) he always compliments my cooking.
