Man Pleads Innocent in Slaying
A Granada Hills man accused of killing his stepfather and dumping the body on a street near his home pleaded not guilty Tuesday in San Fernando Municipal Court.
John Richard Diamond, 38, has been charged with the murder of 81-year-old Lloyd Young, with whom he and his mother lived.
A jogger found Young’s body Oct. 25 on the 18000 block of Sesnon Boulevard, a popular running and hiking area just blocks from the two-story house the family shared.
Police arrested Diamond after finding evidence in his van and at his home that connected him with the crime.
Diamond is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Dec. 8, said Dean Jenkins, a court clerk.
