Plette to Take ‘Figaro’ Role for Arteta

Marie Plette will sing the countess in Mozart’s “Le Nozze di Figaro” for Opera Pacific on Jan. 18-23 at the Orange County Performing Arts Center in Costa Mesa. Plette will replace Ainhoa Arteta, who has withdrawn for personal reasons, according to a company spokesman. Plette was scheduled to have sung the role of Butterfly for Opera Pacific last season but withdrew because of her pregnancy. She was replaced by Elizabeth Hynes.
