Ice Dogs Fall in Chicago, 2-1
Chicago goalie Wendell Young outdueled Long Beach goalie Mike O’Neill on Friday night as the Wolves defeated the Ice Dogs, 2-1, at Chicago.
O’Neill stopped 24 of 26 shots for the Ice Dogs (12-12-3), but Young stopped 30 of 31 shots and earned the victory. Jan Nemecek scored the Long Beach goal at 3:04 of the second period. Doug Ast and Pavel Rosa, who leads the Ice Dogs in scoring with 24 points, were credited with assists.
Daniel Lacroix scored for Chicago (12-8-2) only 31 seconds later to tie the score, and Steve Larouche scored the game-winner at 9:19 of the second period.
