TARZANA — The woman killed in a car accident Friday evening has been identified as Evelyn Faris, 72, of Tarzana, a spokeswoman for the county coroner’s office said Saturday.
Faris was the passenger in a car driven by Rose Orfalea, also 72 and from Tarzana.
Orfalea’s car was westbound on Ventura Boulevard in Tarzana and turning left onto Reseda Boulevard when it was struck by an oncoming auto, police said.
Police identified the driver of the other car as Christopher Chasin, 16, of Beverly Hills, who was not injured. Investigators have not determined who was at fault, said Officer Kim Landry of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Traffic division.
Orfalea, who suffered broken ribs and a fractured pelvis, was listed in fair condition Saturday at Northridge Hospital Medical Center, said nursing supervisor Ellen Barbera.
