Mayor Peter Herzog’s second one-year term will expire Tuesday when the City Council chooses one of its members to serve as mayor for the next year.

The city has no restrictions on the number of terms a mayor may serve, so the council could reelect Herzog, said Mark Pulone, assistant to the city manager.

The council also will elect a mayor pro tem. Councilman Richard Dixon has held that post for two years.
