SAN CLEMENTE
The San Clemente Y2K Millennium Celebration will take place Dec. 31 from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the 600 block of Avenida Victoria near San Clemente Pier.
The event will be a block party featuring live music and entertainment, an art show and a number of games and activities for the entire family, event organizer Rick Anderson said.
A fireworks show from the pier will cap the event at 6 p.m. The park and beach will close half an hour later, he said.
Anderson, who organized the event, said the celebration will be perfect for people who want to make sure they are home when the clock strikes midnight.
