When No. 10 Notre Dame had trouble getting the ball to standout center Ruth Riley, the Fighting Irish turned to the outside and found a way to win.

Alicia Ratay scored 19 points Monday to lead Notre Dame to a 74-59 victory over USC at South Bend, Ind.

Riley added 14 points and Danielle Green had 11 for the Irish (7-2). The Trojans (5-4) were led by Danielle Golay, who scored 16 points, and Tashara Carter and Erica Mashia, who each had 10 points.

Ratay took over after the Trojans effectively shut down Riley’s inside game, hitting three of four three-point shots to help the Irish pull away from a 34-32 halftime edge.

“We were disappointed that we were not ahead at halftime,” Trojan Coach Chris Gobrecht said. “We were having troubles with turnovers and rebounding.”

No. 24 Tulane 81, Providence 57--Janell Burse had 30 points, 17 rebounds and five blocked shots at New Orleans to lead the Green Wave to its ninth consecutive victory.
