City Manager Arthur C. Simonian, currently on paid administrative leave, is scheduled for deposition Jan. 5 in a $300,000 civil lawsuit filed against him by the city.
Henry Kraft, the attorney representing the city, said the deposition will probably take about three days. Transcripts of the testimony could be available in a few weeks, unless attorneys for either side try to seal the court records.
The lawsuit, filed in October, alleges that Simonian pocketed more than $300,000 in employment perks that were not authorized by the City Council. Simonian has denied the accusations, saying that the benefits were permitted under the terms of his employment contract.
No court date has been set.
