Tomorrow is the last night of the millennium. Do you really want to spend it at home? If you haven’t made New Year’s Eve plans yet, it’s not too late. There are still options for every taste and budget. Here are a few, if you don’t want to drive too far.

The state of mind that is “Margaritaville” comes to the Universal Amphitheatre on Friday night, when Florida-based singer-songwriter Jimmy Buffett headlines the New Year’s Eve bash there. Although never a favorite of music critics, Buffett has been successfully entertaining his ever-growing army of fans--the Parrot Heads--for well over 20 years. To paraphrase Buffett himself, if serious thought is your idea of recreation, this is probably not the concert for you. This dinner-dance-concert begins at 7:30 p.m. and runs until 4 a.m. with nonstop music from Buffett and his Coral Reefer Band and two other musical acts. Appropriate attire: shorts and Hawaiian shirts. Tickets are $500 per person.
