Pops The Conejo Pops Orchestra, conducted by Elmer Ramsey, will host its annual New Year’s Eve concert at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza’s Kavli Theatre. The millennium fete will feature soloists Lynn Youngren, soprano, and Chris Feeney, tenor. There will also be dance accompaniment.

Musical

The Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center will fete the new year with a performance of “1776--The Great American Musical.” After the 8 p.m. New Year’s Eve show, audience members will join the actors for a late supper and champagne toast. On the Main Stage, a large movie screen will show CNN’s broadcast of how the new millennium is being celebrated around the world.

Improv

The newly refurbished Livery Theatre in downtown Ventura will host a New Year’s Eve party, which will include improvisational theater, snacks and drinks. The activities will end early enough for those attending to carry on their celebrations elsewhere.
