Sports is one of the most popular topics on the World Wide Web, so it seems entirely appropriate that when the NBA unveiled the schedule for its shortened 1999 season, it did so first at https://www.nba.com. NBA officials said the online announcement marked the first time a professional sports league had used the Internet to make its schedule available to fans.
In addition to the game schedule, basketball fans can consult the site to check which games will be televised on which networks. Fans can also go online to print out individual pocket schedules for their favorite teams.
