Danielle Thompson, a fifth-grader at Cerritos Elementary School, has won the 12th annual “Why Say No to Drugs” essay contest, sponsored by the Orange County Society of Health-System Pharmacists and the Orange County Pharmacists Assn. The Stanton resident’s essay on the positive influences of her parents and teachers and the negative outcome of drug use was chosen from 925 entries from 10 Orange County school districts.
