A Lido Isle woman who plotted to harm her former son-in-law will serve a one-year prison sentence inside her bay-front home, police said. Mae Miner, 68, pleaded guilty in October for her part in a scheme that targeted the man who had been married to her daughter, Robin. Miner received a year in jail and five years’ probation but was given consideration to serve her time under house arrest, scheduled to begin later this month. She will be able to leave her home only for work- and health-related purposes.

Police say Miner wanted David Leland of Capitola, Calif., hurt and maimed after a child custody battle between her daughter and Leland. Miner allegedly contacted businessman Raymond Maciejczak, who met with convicted felon Patrick O’Neill. Authorities arrested O’Neill on suspicion of attempted murder. O’Neill and Maciejczak are awaiting trial.

Leland has filed a civil suit against Miner, claiming the ordeal severely affected him. That trial is expected to start this summer.
