Airshow Inc., the Tustin maker of real-time direct broadcast television reception systems for jet aircraft, said its Airshow TV system has been added to the Dassault Aviation catalog as an option for purchasers of its Falcon series of business jets.

The Airshow TV system uses a directional dish antenna mounted in a housing at the top of the tail fins of large business jets like the Challenger and Gulfstream.

To fit the smaller Falcon, the original antenna had to be redesigned, said Dennis Ferguson, Airshow’s president. It took several months to come up with a system that would fit, but it opens up a much larger market for Airshow--there are far more Falcon-sized jets than Challengers and Gulfstreams sold to corporate and private jet fleets.

Airshow, which also makes and markets an array of in-cabin navigation and information systems for aircraft crews and passengers, says industry acceptance of the Airshow TV system has exceeded the company’s initial projections, with 30 sold in the 14 months since the initial FAA certification was granted.
