The Festival of Whales kicks off this weekend with a community parade beginning at 10 a.m. at Blue Lantern and Santa Clara Street and ending at the festival street fair at La Plaza Park. The fair will include more than 100 arts and crafts booths, a petting zoo and a kids bungee jump. La Plaza Park is at Golden Lantern and Pacific Coast Highway; parking is available at Dana Hills High School with free shuttle service from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Information: (949) 496-1555.
