A 29-year-old man suspected of drunk driving led California Highway Patrol officers on a freeway chase that ended when the man stopped at his Winnetka home, ran inside, disrobed and tried to take a shower, authorities said.

About 12:35 a.m. Monday, CHP officers suspected Michael Greer was driving drunk on the Foothill Freeway and attempted to stop him, said Shirley Gaines, a CHP spokeswoman. Greer failed to yield, she said, and drove away, reaching speeds of up to 70 and 80 mph. He went from the Foothill to the Ventura Freeway and got off at Tampa Avenue, according to Gaines.

He drove to his home in the 19800 block of Covello Street, ran to the bathroom and undressed, Gaines said. Officers followed him inside and arrested him as he was entering the shower.
