“Children of Eden,” Stephen Schwartz and John Caird’s musical following the Bible from the Creation to Noah’s ark, ends Sunday at the Plummer Auditorium, 201 E. Chapman Ave., Fullerton. “Schwartz’s eclectic--and sometimes electric--score, sung by some sterling voices, highlights this provocative parable about parent and child relations from the beginning of time,” Don Shirley wrote for The Times. 8 p.m. today, Friday and Saturday. 2 p.m. Sunday. $14-$35. (714) 879-1732.

Two former lovers meet in hope of rekindling their romance, only to find political, social and age differences stand in their way in “Skylight,” which closes Sunday at South Coast Repertory, 655 Town Center Drive, Costa Mesa. “The symbolism in David Hare’s social commentary play is a bit overcooked, and director Martin Benson and one of his leading actors mess up part of the recipe. Still, the show is worth sampling, particularly if you haven’t seen it so far in London, New York or Los Angeles,” Daryl Miller wrote for The Times. 8 p.m. today and Friday. 2:30 and 8 p.m. Saturday. 2:30 and 7:30 p.m. Sunday. $26-$43. (714) 708-5555.

Jay Presson Allen’s adaptation of Muriel Sparks’ novel “The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie,” about an eccentric and popular teacher at a private girls school whose romantic entanglements bring trouble to those around her, closes Sunday at the Newport Theatre Arts Center, 2501 Cliff Drive, Newport Beach. “Generally good performances mark this revival, especially the lucid if flawed Brodie of Beverly Turner and the arresting performance of Katie Brittle as Brodie’s prize pupil,” said T.H. McCulloh, writing for The Times. 8 p.m. today, Friday and Saturday. 2:30 p.m. Sunday. $13. (949) 631-0288.
