7 Injured After MTA Bus and Car Collide

A Metropolitan Transportation Authority bus collided with a car Friday evening on Van Nuys Boulevard, injuring four people in the car.

The car pulled out of a driveway and into the path of the bus, which slammed the smaller vehicle into a parked car, said Sgt. Rod Grahek of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Traffic division.

Three people aboard the bus also suffered minor injuries.

The accident happened near Van Nuys Boulevard and Dronfield Avenue at 6:30 p.m., Grahek said.

Two of the car’s passengers were in serious condition at Providence Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills, a nursing supervisor said. Two others injured in the car were taken to Northridge Hospital Medical Center. Information on their conditions was not released.
