Man Arrested in Child Porn Case
A 41-year-old Ojai man has been arrested on suspicion of using the Internet to order child pornography from Hong Kong and have it delivered to his Santa Paula business, authorities said Thursday.
Mark Bowman was arrested about 11 a.m. Wednesday at his company, Heins Balancing Systems, at 820 Railroad Ave., Sheriff’s Det. Michael Houlihan said.
Federal authorities alerted local officials three weeks ago that Bowman allegedly ordered the child pornography, Houlihan said. Undercover deputies then delivered the materials to Bowman’s business and arrested him, Houlihan said. The materials included videos and computer disks.
Search warrants were executed at Bowman’s home and business, but detectives declined to specify what was found.
Bowman posted $500 bail Thursday and was released from jail.
